What payment methods do you accept?
We accept most major credit cards as well as PayPal. You do not have to use PayPal as your payment processor to pay via credit card. We also accept money orders, please see the information further down the page for more information about that method.
What is Dyed to Order?
The toughest thing for a hand dyer to do is carry a large colorway catalog with multiple bases so we solved the problem by offering colorways to order on the bases you choose. Our favorite part of dyed to order is we get to know the customer behind the orders. Rather than packing up and shipping out as fast as possible we dye each skein with a name attached and we feel like we get to know you a little bit with every order.
How long does it take to get my order?
Since this is a hand dyeing process, please allow time for us to create your yarns. Current time to ship is posted on the bottom of every page of the shop. If you are in a hurry and need your order expedited please contact us in advance so we can ensure that we can meet your needs. Orders containing dyed to order and in stocks will ship once the dyed to order yarns are complete.
Do all bases look like the one pictured?
I do my best to accurately depict the colorway in the photo, choosing the base the colorway is dyed on for the photo will get the most accurate representation of the colorway. Each yarn is hand dyed and due to the hand dyeing process each yarn may be slightly different. Additionally, the fiber type and blend may take up color differently than the yarn or fiber photoed. Please take some time to learn about the different bases offered and when in doubt please ask! The NGY Ravelry forum is also a helpful place to get help when trying to pair a base with a project!
What is a dye lot?
It is highly recommended that you order all the yarn you will need for a project at once to ensure it is the same dyelot. Even so you may need to alternate balls of yarn while knitting to ensure consistency throughout your project. Hand dyed and handpainted yarn is unique and varied.
How do I know if a colorway is a dyed to order colorway or in stock item?
Yarns and fibers that are in stock are labeled as such, dyed to order colorways have the information about that service in their product information.
I want a colorway you have featured in a club but I don't see it listed!
Club & limited edition colorways are exclusive for at least six months. If it becomes a repeatable colorway, it will show up when the expiration is up.

Can I come shop in person?
In short, no. We just don't have the stock to make available to you.
When we opened the new studio in late Summer of 2013 we decided to experiment with a front end retail space. It was an interesting experiment however, since we are a dyed to order shop we discovered that keeping dyed stock in all the possible combinations ready was an impossible feat. Since we weren't interested in expanding to be a full LYS we decided it would be better use of the space to reabsorb it back into space we could use for the dye studio itself.
I'm local, can I save on shipping and just come pick up my order?
You bet! Please choose the pickup option under shipping and we will email you to let you know when it is ready & we will have it waiting at the front counter. We are typically available in the studio Monday through Friday, 10am - 5pm.
Can I come visit the studio and see what you do?
While we love company there are insurance things and trade secrets and all kinds of stuff that complicate a visit. We'd love for you to pop in and say hi, we just won't be able to host you in the dye area. Please schedule ahead so we know to expect you.
Can I get a refund on a club membership or preorder?
I'm sorry but all sales on clubs and preorders are final.
